|Recommended: NoNice community, horrendous parking — This community is very beautiful but after moving in within a week I realized that there is no designated parking for building 5. Whenever I visited the property I didn't pay attention to how the parking overall was structured. It looked like there was plenty of parking, but it's not. There are garages attached to each building which is not typical for a complex and then there are carports that are in the middle and not close to any of the buildings.
The problem is that the carports serve no purpose and should have been designed for free parking for residents and a section for visitors. Every night the parking gets full and on the weekends it's even worse. I don't know who's a visitor or resident because we dont have parking stickers. There is a 75 charge to rent the carports that sits in the middle of the parking lot and are not even close enough to the building to shield you from the elements which is what most people rent one for in the first place. I chose to not rent one because I noticed this. Overall the itty bitty free parking that is available is also very far to walk which makes it hard to get groceries to and from the car.
Secondly, I feel like the builder strategically made the garages and parking the way they did to force residents to purchase one for guaranteed parking spot since there is such limited parking overall. The problem with this is the garages are well over 200 a month to rent and in my opinion is way too high considering the cost of rent and amenities fees alone are astoundingly expensive.
I signed a 15 month lease and have already decided that I won't renew because of this. I also don't agree that we should pay 35 for the amenities or the HOA fee in an apartment either. We don't own a house or the apartments so I feel like as renters we are getting railroaded for unnecessary stuff that never existed 5 years ago in the rental market.
I fear people's cars will get towed in the future for not having anywhere to park and will resort to parking in one of the garage spaces or covered parking because there simply isn't adequate parking and folks really won't have the extra money to spend because many of us are stretched as-is.
Advice to property owners management Please get rid of the carpots and make this free and visitor parking. It's not functional at all.
